Cricut Cardz Challenge # 111

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Cricut Cardz Challenge.  Today, Mary challenged us to make a summer card.  To me summer is all about relaxing and enjoying ourselves.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't it cute??  The main cut is from Crocs Rule - I am loving that cartridge!  The sun is from Doodlecharms and I cut the clouds out of Pooh and Friends, adhered them to the white layer, and sponged the blue sky in.  I love the way it makes the cloud look soft.  The stamp is from Simply Sweet, and the yellow twine is from Doodlebug.  I ripped a piece of brown paper to make the sand, and doodled around with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen.

I hope you pop over to Cricut Cardz, see what the DT came up with to inspire you, and play along with us - there's a chance to win, and who doesn't love to win??

A challenge or two for my summery card:
Lexi's Creations - at the beach
Craft  Scene - beach scene

Just a Note

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am back today with a set of cards I created for my mum.  A few weeks ago, I was peeking around at some challenge sites, and came across a beautiful card that I just knew I had to figure out how to make.  You can see that card HERE.  It took some manipulating on my Gypsy, but I did figure it out :)  I made a set of 6 - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cards.  Here they are:

Aren't they pretty??  The cut is from Lyrical Letters, I have had that cartridge for a long time, and have somehow, never noticed this cut.  It's amazing what hidden treasures the cartridges have.  I hid the thin frame that was around the original cut, and welded a bigger rectangle from George and Basic Shapes.  It's not perfect, but I love how delicate it looks.  The stamp is from TPC Studio stamps.  I decided to use Stickles, instead of gems, like were used on the original cards.  I chose to use a ribbon that coordinated with the stickles.  I love them in both the white and the black.

A challenge or two for my pretty cards:
Hooked on Crafts - all that glitters
Make it Mondays - anything goes
Lollipop Crafts - flowers in bloom
Love to Create - anything goes
Fashionable Stamping - nature
Stamp'N'Plus - black and white

A challenge or two for my cute chickie card:
The Queen's Royal Digi Challenge - anything goes
Digi Makeover Challenge - anything goes
Incy Wincy Designs - anything goes

Cardz TV Challenge 11

Happy Friday!  I'm back with another project today.  Mary of Cardz TV, has a new challenge this weekend, an anything goes challenge.  I really wanted to try to whip a project up tonight, so I could play along.  I have to work the rest of the weekend, so it was now or never!

Last night I went to a class at The Cutting Garden - our LSS.  One of the cards we made was a trifold card. I LOVED the layout, and wanted to try to make one at home, using my Cricut of course.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't it pretty?  It is definitely not my normal cute card, kind of outside my box.  The stamp is from Flourishes Sweet Days of Summer.  The mat it is on is cut from Twinkle Toes Lite cartridge.  The patterned paper is from CTMH, and the card stock is from Bazzil and Michaels.  I inked around the mat and the patterned paper with my Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  I also used that ink to stamp my sentiment.  I embossed the pink paper with a cuttlebug folder, but can't remember what it's called - sorry :)  The roses are cute using MFTs Royal Rose Die.

A challenge or two for my little card -
Cardz TV - anything goes
Crafty Catz - pastel colors
Hotshot Craft  - distress ink
Word Art Wednesday - use an uplifting sentiment
Crafty Calendar - flowers

52 Questions - 3 Things

Happy Friday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges.  Today, Janis asked us to think about the first three things we grab when crafting, and create a project with them.  Any of you who visit my blog regularly, will know that I am a very simple crafter.  I like to pick a sentiment and cricut cut and pair them quite simply.  So, the three things I grab these days - 1) Gypsy girl 2) stamps (sentiment and whenever possible PK faces)  3) my Sakura Jelly Roll pens to do lots of doodling.  Here is a project I created with those 3 things:

I love how cute it turned out!  The lemonade is cut from Simply Charmed, I sized her on my Gypsy.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  My daughter says this all the time - it's the cutest saying!   Her face is stamped with PK Princess Faces.  I doodled around with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens, and gave her cheeks a bit of color with my SU pastels.  The paper is all from Michaels and  so is the ribbon.

There are two lucky winners this month, on from Canada and the US.  These 2 CTMH stamp set are up for grabs:

You can shop with Canadian CTMH Consultant Darla Haverstock HERE, and see her blog HERE.

You can shop with American CTMH consultant HERE, and see her blog HERE.

I hope you come to Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges, see what the DT came up with, and play along with us. You could win one of the amazing stamp sets!!

A challenge or two for my cute little tag:
My Craft Spot - cool treats
The Stamping Boutique - jump into summer
Love To Create - summertime fun
Pan Pastel Challenges - summertime
The Crafty Pad - food
Cute Card Thursday - summer
Charisma Cardz - summer

Teacher Gift #1

Happy Thursday everyone!  School ends here next week, so I decided to make some card sets as thank you gifts for the kids teachers.  I got the idea a couple of years ago from the ever brilliant Ruthie from September Ninth, you can see her card HERE.  The card I made for Andrew's Grade 4 teacher has an apple, just like Ruthie's, but this one, for Gabrielle's primary teacher, I took a slightly different route.  Here it is:

Cute, isn't it?  The paper and pencil are from Simply Charmed.  I welded their shadows together, so they look like they belong together.  Their faces are from PK Princess Faces.  I doodled on them with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens, and chalked on some cheeks with my SU pastels.  I printed the words on my computer.  I followed THIS tutorial here.  Then I used my Martha Stewart Score Board to emboss the lines around the outside.  I love the finished look it gives the card.

A challenge or two for my cute little card:
All That Scrap - embossing
Crafts And Me - anything goes
Divas by Design - die cut
ATCs and Cards with Attitude - anything goes
Crafty Catz - embossing
Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude - anything goes

I hope you come back and visit tomorrow, I will have my DT project for Pause Dream Enjoy, and don`t forget to enter Paper Playtime's anything goes with sentiments challenge.

Bee Happy!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I have a card to share that I created at on my Gypsy Girl.  I made it using a few shapes that I welded together.  This card feels like summer to me, the kids always know that summer has arrived when the bees show up by the cottage.  We have hives up there.  Here is my card:

Didn't it turn out cute?  I wish I had some cloud patterned paper, or PKs cloud stamp, I feel like it would have been the perfect background on the middle layer, hmm... I think I will cut out some clouds and a sun on my Gypsy girl and add them to the bottom layer.  This was designed with George and Basic Shapes and Create a Critter.  The bees faces are from Peachy Keen.  I chalked up their faces with my SU pastels.  The sentiment stamps are both (I think) from my Simply Sweet set, that are no longer available.  I doodled around with  the card with my Sakura Jelly roll pens.

A challenge or two for my little card:
Celebrate the Occasion - welcome summer
Lady Bug Crafts - use two of something (2 bees)
Creative Mondays - summer
Hooked On Crafts - all that glitters
The Squirrel and the Fox - make it glitter
Emergency Crafters - things with wings
Stampin for the Weekend - bugs and butterflies

I got off work 5 hours early this morning - at 2 am - ya me!  Hopefully after I wake up, I will get some time in my craft room.  There are lots of things I want to work on.  Hopefully I will have a project for you tommow - I'm on a roll this week :)

Angry Bird!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am popping by today with a very quick card I made for my 4 year old nephew for Easter.  Duncan is obsessed with Angry Birds.  i decided to try to make him a card on my Gypsy Girl.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't he cute?  My nephew loved him!  I created him with George and Basic shapes, and that's it!  I was thrilled with how easy he was in the end.  I inked up many of the edges with some distress ink to give him a bit more dimension.  The Happy Easter stamp, is a CTMH stamp, but this could easily be a birthday card, a note card, a party invite, anything you want :)  The paper is all from Michaels.  I stitched around the edges with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen.

A challenge or two for my card:
Make it Monday - anything goes
Cutie Pie Challenges - stitching
Stamp and Create - bold and bright

Paper Playtime - Anything Goes

Happy Monday everyone!  It's challenge time over at Paper Playtime.  It is a "Say it With Sentiments" Anything Goes challenge, so let your imagination go wild, just be sure to use a sentiment on your project.  Here is what I came up with:

Last week at The Cutting Garden, a LSS, I took a gatefold class.  We used Spellbinders to create them , but I figured out how to do it with my Cricut!  It saved me a couple of hundred dollars, cause now I don't need to buy 6 or 8 sets of Spellbinders.  My hubby was very happy...

I used the Flourishes stamps set Sweet Days of Summer.  I am loving these stamp sets!  I colored a little with my SU pens, and used some stickles on the flowers - though it's a bit hard to see in the pic.  I designed parts of the card on my Gypsy Girl.

The card stock I used is from Michael's.  The "patterned paper" is actually washi tape from Freckled Fawn.  They are our sponsor this week, and were kind enough to give the DT some tape to play with.  It's pretty, isn't it.  The ribbon is from Michael's.

As I said, our sponsor this week is Freckled Fawn, they are giving one luck participant a $15 gift certificate! So, hop over to Paper Playtime, see what the DT came up with and play along with us :)

A challenge or two for my little card:
Card Crafters Circle - sentiment
Robyn's Fetish - anything goes
Crafty Ann's - it's a girl thing
Inspire me Fridays - anything goes
Sentimental Sundays - summer fun
Sweet Stampin Challenge - summer fun

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope to see you again soon!

Happy Friday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges.  This week, Janis challenged us to make a mostly yellow project.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't it cute?  I cut the owl from Hoot and Holler,  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Owl Occasions - it has the cutest sentiments on it :)  The patterned paper is some old Creative Memories paper that has been sitting in my stash forever.  The cardstock is all from Michael's, as is the ribbon.  I doodled around the tag with my Sakura Jelly Roll pen.

There are TWO prizes this month available for people who play with us.  One winner from Canada, and one winner from the USA.  We are sponsored by two wonderful Close To My Heart consultants and they are each providing a gorgeous stamp set.

Father's Day Take 2

Happy Thursday everyone!  So, I did make it into my scraproom for an hour or 2 last night, after the kids went to bed, but it was way to dark to take a picture, I decided to take a pic this morning, and just post late.  There seem to be a ton of Father's Day or Men challenges out there in blog land, so I decided to make another card.  This one is for the kids to give my dad.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't it cute??  The shirt and tie are from Simply Charmed - the shirt doesn't really have a pocket, but one of my acrylic stamps, fell off the block and put a nasty ink smudge right below Grandpa - what's a girl to do??  I decided a pocket was the perfect solution :)  The Grandpa stamp is from Scrappy Moms Stamps "fro the Boys" set.  Happy Father's Day is a CTMH stamp.  The twine is from Doodle Bug, and the button from my stash.  I used all Recollections paper.  I love how it turned out.  I think my dad will really like it!

A challenge or tow for my cute card:
Die Cuttin Divas - father's day
Crafting For All Seasons - for a man
Fab'n'Funky - father's day

Cricut Cardz Challenge - Father's Day

Happy Wednesday!  It's challenge day over at Cricut Cardz Challenge!  Today Mary challenged us to make a father's day card.  Here is what I came up with:

The silhoutte on this is cut from A Child's Year.  The paper is all from CTMH, both patterned and cardstock.  I bought the stamp at my LSS, it was just a loose, unmounted piece of rubber, so I have no idea which company it's from.  I doodle using my Sakura Jelly Roll pen.

Please hop over to CCC. see what the fabulous DT came up with, and play along with us!

A challenge or two for my little card:

Just a Note

Happy Tuesday!  This is a quick little card I made yesterday.  I think it turned out really cute:

This is a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card.  The stamp is a new Pure Innocence stamp.  I LOVE it!  I paper pieced the dress with some paper that was in my scrap box.  Those little sleeves and collar were VERY tiny to cut around.  I colored her in with my Prismacolor Pencils.  The two pieces of patterned paper on the card base, are both old Stampin Up papers. The card stock, random papers from my scrap box.  The sentiment stamp is from Whimsical Designs.

Be sure to pop back tomorrow to see my DT creation for Cricut Cardz Challenge.  It's going to be a good one :)

A challenge or two for my cute little card:

Run Fast

Happy Monday!  I had a great weekend!  I ran a 5k this past Saturday :)  Yay me!  I will tell you all about it in a minute, but first, I want to share a card I made that I am sending to a friend who also did the race.  Here it is:

Isn't it cute?  The stamp set is from Close to my Heart - in fact, everything is from CTMH except the ribbon.  The layout is simple, but showcases the stamp, which I really like.  I hope my friend likes it :)

So the race I was in, was called Sole Sisters.  It was a women only 5km run with no clock.  You could run, or walk it, and everyone who finished got a medal!  The morning was POURING, but by the time we got to the pre-race stuff, the sky was blue!  There were 1500 women participating.

As we walked to the start line, it started to pour again, and just before the start, there was thunder and lightning!  The race was VERY wet - I was soaked and freezing by the end.  I was pretty grateful for the dinner and hot bath that were waiting for me when I got home.

Here are me and my neighbor Michelle at the end of the run with our sparkly, blingy medals.  We had a great time, despite the weather.  I have already signed up for next year!

I hope you all come back tomorrow.  I will have a new project to share with you.

A challenge or two for my cute little card:
Stampin Sisters in Christ - use an image showing action
Stampavie and More - for a girl
Sunday Stamper - pretty in pink
Bunny Zoe Challenge - girls, girls, girls
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Make it Monday - anything goes

Happy Friday everyone!  It is challenge day over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges.  Today Janis challenged us to make a beach themed project. Living in Nova Scotia, we are surrounded by ocean, so the beach can be very cold, but the kids love it!   Here is what I came up with:

The tag is from Plantin Schoolbook, the sun and crab are both from CAC.  I ripped some random pieces of brown paper to make the sand.  The stamps is from Flourishes Sweet Days of Summer.  I doodled around with my Sakura pen, and on of my old Creative Memories pens.  The paper is from my scrap box and the ribbon is from Michael's.

For June, there will be two winners - one from Canada and one from the USA.  How awesome is that??  Here is what's up for grabs...
